The production of Hand Tufted Shaggy rugs is very similar to all other tufted products, this involves the tufter injecting the pile through a backing cloth from behind.

Each pile is individually injected, the closer the tufts, the higher the density. To create a shaggy product the length of each individual tuft is increased drastically.

Products of a higher density or longer pile use a larger amount of material, and therefore cost more to produce.
